1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies, local storage, session storage and similar technologies store small pieces of information on your device or browser. They help websites and apps work, remember choices and protect accounts.
2. How Activity Atlas uses them
We aim to use only what we need. At this version, we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

The essential website authentication cookie can remain active for up to 90 days after your last authenticated use. Activity Atlas renews that period while you continue using your account and removes the cookie when you sign out.
3. Essential vs non-essential
Private invitation pages use essential sign-in/session and security controls. Signing in does not start a subscription trial. Account-held invitation, membership, conversation and acceptance records are server records rather than advertising cookies. Requested planner/offline storage may contain the shared event details the account is authorised to use. Keep devices secure and sign out on shared devices. Clearing cookies or local data does not revoke an invitation, erase other participants' copies or delete the corresponding server records; use the access and privacy controls or contact support.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage are needed for the service to work and do not require consent.
Non-essential analytics or similar technologies will only be used where you have been given a clear choice, unless the law allows otherwise. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and the cookie controls.
4. Your choices
Requested device storage also includes device-only health reminders, optional bin-calendar household/feed information and offline copies of planner records you are authorised to use. Deleting browser/app data may remove device-only plans. It does not delete the corresponding account-held records or cancel a subscription. On-device health plans are not synced to the server. Apple sign-in uses a short-lived security cookie to connect the terms presentation to the returning sign-in; it expires after 20 minutes or is consumed on return.
If you choose to open UK Bin Day to connect a bin calendar, its embedded external website has its own cookies and storage. Your address search goes directly to that service. See the Privacy Policy for the separate processing and local-removal controls. The optional paired-browser label transfer stores the selected labels in the receiving browser only when you choose to use it.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, but some features may stop working if you block essential cookies.
You can also clear local storage in your browser/device. Clearing local storage may remove private participant labels, private activity contacts, planner drafts, saved display choices or remembered search preferences from that device.
Clearing local storage does not itself delete account-held favourites or planner entries, cancel subscriptions or reset trial eligibility. Account-held records and device-only labels are separate.
In the mobile app, a recent current-location fix may be kept only on your device for a short period so nearby searches can start faster. You can remove it by clearing app data, reinstalling the app or changing device permissions.
In the mobile app, you can control app permissions such as notifications and location through your device settings.
5. Changes
We will update this policy if our use of cookies, analytics or similar technologies changes.
