1. Our commitment

Activity Atlas helps adults discover, plan and book activities. Some activities are for children. We take children's safety and wellbeing seriously.

Activity Atlas is a platform. We do not run activities and we do not supervise children at activities. Providers are responsible for delivering activities safely and lawfully. Our role is to set clear expectations, protect data, moderate the platform and respond responsibly to concerns reported to us.

Some map results are limited public listings collected from publicly available information. These listings are not checked or endorsed by Activity Atlas unless a specific Activity Atlas trust marker says so. Parents and guardians should contact the venue or provider directly before attending.

2. Responsibilities

Providers are responsible for:

  • safe and lawful delivery of their activities;
  • appropriate supervision;
  • safeguarding procedures;
  • staff suitability, including DBS or other checks where required;
  • insurance;
  • first aid arrangements;
  • licences, registrations or venue permissions where required;
  • accurate activity information.

Parents and guardians are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable and for following provider instructions.

Activity Atlas is responsible for:

  • requiring attestations from registered or claiming providers;
  • handling platform reports, including reports about incorrect public listing information;
  • moderating provider-managed listings and user-submitted content;
  • protecting personal data;
  • restricting or removing providers where needed;
  • escalating serious concerns where appropriate.

At launch, safeguarding reports are triaged by the founder/operator or appointed safeguarding lead.

If a child or any person is in immediate danger, call 999 first.

4. Reporting a concern

You can report a safeguarding concern by emailing support@activityatlas.co.uk or using any in-product reporting option.

5. How we respond

When we receive a safeguarding concern, we may:

  • record the concern and relevant facts;
  • assess urgency and risk;
  • restrict, suspend or remove a provider/listing/account;
  • pause payouts where needed;
  • preserve evidence;
  • contact the provider or reporter where appropriate;
  • refer the matter to police, local authority children's services or another appropriate body.

We do not investigate suspected abuse ourselves beyond what is needed to make a safe and appropriate referral.

6. Provider expectations

Registered or claiming providers must confirm they are responsible for safe and lawful delivery, including safeguarding, DBS checks, insurance, licences and accurate listing information where applicable.

We may ask providers for evidence at any time, especially where there is a complaint, dispute, safety concern or moderation issue.

7. Children's data

We minimise children's data by design. Children do not create Activity Atlas accounts. Planner labels are optional and designed to stay on the adult's own device/browser. Booking attendee data is kept limited and anonymised when no longer needed.

8. Review

We review this policy at least annually and after significant safeguarding incidents or product changes.
